This work isn't just professional for me, it's very personal. I'm a father of two, including my youngest son Nathan, who is autistic, non-verbal, and has significant sensory needs. He attends Kayla's Children Centre, and I ride each year to help raise funds for KCC. I also volunteer at Camp Lionheart, where I run the outdoors program and Canoe Tripping for kids on the spectrum and facing other medical challenges. My son has an Autism service dog named Vladdy, a handsome Black Lab/Golden Retriever mix that we were given through Lion's Foundation and Guide Dogs of Canada, another organization which I also continue to volunteer with. I've spent years watching what it actually takes, in a space, a routine, a community for these kids to feel safe and thrive. That's the understanding I bring to every family I work with.
